VBS week!

This past week the kids had VBS at our church. It is such a fun, high energy, Spirit-filled week that makes such a lasting impression on their little hearts and lives. I can't say enough about all the good that comes from Vacation Bible School. It really is like 15 weeks of Sunday School and learning about Jesus all packed into five fabulous days. On day 1 they learned that God's Word is true and Brookie said, "This is the best day of my life!"
Tuesday was "Wacky Hair" day
Day 2: God's Word is comforting
(or as Bray sometimes says, "comfortable")
Day 2 was wrapped up into one shared description from the kids:
"It was AWESOME!"
Wednesday was "Pajama" day
Day 3: God's Word is surprising!
Each day after VBS we found ourselves with plans with friends. We spent much time outside, at pools, and having fun. After VBS on Wednesday, we had the Ayotte's over for lunch and a playdate.
The kids wanted to watch the VBS DVD together, so they sang and danced around the living room to the songs and truths that have become so familiar to them over the past week.
Even Berlyn got in on the action

It really warmed my heart and brought tears to my eyes to see them
dancing and singing for Jesus
with so much freedom and joy in their hearts...

It's contagious.

Thursday was "Hat" day
Day 4: God's Word is life-changing
Brookie wore Brayden's Easter hat and
we were "two-two twins!"
(Brayden was just a cool dude)
Friday was "Pirate" day
(The theme of VBS this year was "High Seas Expedition")
Day 5: God's Word is for everyone

I volunteered in the nursery all week and would sneak out to see the kids here and there.
I especially liked to see them singing and dancing with the large group each day.

It was a wonderful week...well worth the time and energy, the early rushed mornings and the late nights...the missed naps and the thrown-off schedules. I love our church, the people in our church, and the God we serve. Such a blessing...there is no measure.
And these last pictures are random but cute...
I was painting my nails and my little shadow was right next to me.
She kept putting this little purse over her head. At first I thought she did it by accident, but realized she was intentionally taking it off and putting it on...
And with much pride.
She turned 10 months on Friday and is crawling around like crazy and pulling herself up onto anything she can get ahold of. She's even trying to stand on her own and is beginning to scale the furniture.
It's going to be a fun summer!
"Let's Go!"
