Lake Huron Campground-2010

This past weekend we took our annual camping trip with friends. This year we chose Lake Huron Campground. It was clean and newer and had a lot of "extras" for the kids (pool, playground, game room, etc.) It wasn't as rustic as some of our other sites and a little bit more low-key, but a great time.

Mid-afternoon "Scrabble Slam" and "Uno" time with the ladies
Brayden was running around, on the go, most of the was hard to catch him in one place for a picture.
But my eyes never left my "Atlas" (smile)
We were blessed to be able to use the Timm's pop-up camper for the weekend. I don't know if we will ever be able to go back to "tenting" it again. The pop-up was so convenient and oh so comfortable.

Flashlight tag. Roasted marshmallows. Smores. Late night showers. Sleeping bags.
Campfire scent lingering in our skin, clothes and hair...
Early mornings. Fresh air. Eggs. Bacon. Sausage. Cereal.
Coffee. Fresh fruit. Fresh Word.

Berlyn did so great her first camping trip. She slept well and played well.
(even found some fun on her own in mama's undergarments) :)

Saturday the girls and I went downtown Lexington for a little afternoon shopping.

The best part of the weekend were the evening skies, and the laughter that blanketed the stories told around the nightly bonfires. The stars were nothing short of magnificent. One night after I had already turned into bed, I couldn't resist sneaking out for one more look at the starry host above. And to think He knows each one of them by name...that's all I kept thinking. Definitely a God of Wonders.

(or if you are a Carter, "K-R-S and T-U-V"!)
(and you know the rest!)

Great weather. Great kids. Great friends. Great time.
We were shy a few families this year and felt their absence.
My philosophy is: The more the merrier!
So, if you are camping year think about possibly joining us!

  1. I enjoyed "hearing" about your camping weekend, but especially loved the KRS&TUV. Too funny!! It just sounds so "right" anymore.

  2. Great pics and words! Glad this year was "fun" for you. Berlyn fits so well into your lives and activities. I may need a copy of a couple of the pics! Thanks for posting.

  3. What a great post! I loved the pics of all the kids. It's not every day you get pics of them all... and it's fantastic to see them together. :) Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!

  4. Looks like a blast, as always ... just a little (or not) jealous! :-)
